What does the Petme Protection Plan cover in the Netherlands?
Up to 20,000 euro in veterinary expenses if your pet is injured or becomes ill while in the sitter's care. Coverage activates automatically the moment a booking is confirmed.
Do I need to buy the vet protection separately?
No. The protection plan is included in every confirmed Petme booking at no extra cost. There is no separate purchase, no upgrade tier, no claim deposit.
How do I file a claim in the Netherlands?
Contact Petme support through the in-app chat or support@petme.social. We connect you to the claim team within 24 hours. Most Dutch vet invoices are reimbursed within 7 to 10 business days.
Does the protection cover pre-existing conditions?
The plan covers acute illness, injury, and emergency treatment that arise during the booking. Chronic pre-existing conditions are excluded, as is preventive routine care.
Does the plan cover dogs and cats both?
Yes. Dogs, cats, and most household small mammals are covered. Some exotic species are excluded; ask Petme support if you have an unusual species and we will confirm before booking.
