This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies Lion Den SL ("Petme", "we", "us", "our") uses on the https://petme.social website (the "Website"), including our blog, and in the Petme mobile application (the "App"), and why.

1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. They allow the website to recognise your device, maintain your session, and protect against security threats.
We use both first-party cookies (set directly by Petme) and third-party cookies (set by trusted services we use, such as Stripe and Google). All cookies currently in use on the Platform are either strictly necessary for the Website to function or are placed on the basis of our legitimate interest in security. No advertising or analytics cookies are currently active.
2. Legal Basis
The use of cookies on the Website is governed by Directive 2002/58/EC (the ePrivacy Directive) as implemented in Spain under Article 22(2) of the Ley de Servicios de la Sociedad de la Información y de Comercio Electrónico (LSSI-CE), and by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
All cookies currently in use on the Website fall into one of two categories that are exempt from the prior consent requirement under Article 22(2) LSSI-CE: strictly necessary cookies, which are essential for the Website to operate; and security cookies, which are placed on the basis of our legitimate interest in protecting the Platform from fraud and automated abuse.
No consent banner is currently required because no non-essential cookies are active. If we introduce analytics or advertising cookies in the future, we will update this Policy, add those cookies to a consent mechanism, and seek your consent before placing them.

3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for the Website to function. They cannot be switched off.

3.2 Security Cookies
These cookies are placed on the basis of our legitimate interest in protecting the Website from automated abuse and fraudulent activity. They do not require your consent and do not track your behaviour across other websites.

3.3 Analytics Cookies
We do not currently use analytics cookies on the Website. We use Firebase Analytics in the App only, as described in Section 4.
3.4 Advertising Cookies
We do not currently serve advertising on the Website or App. No advertising cookies are set. When Google AdSense is reintroduced on the blog, this Policy will be updated and your consent will be sought before any advertising cookies are placed.
4. The Mobile App and Similar Technologies
The App is a native mobile application and does not use browser cookies. It uses the following SDK-based technologies.
Firebase Analytics (Google LLC): the App uses the Firebase Analytics SDK to collect aggregated usage data such as screens viewed and session duration. This uses a Firebase Installation ID stored in app-level storage, not a browser cookie. You can disable Firebase Analytics collection through the App's privacy settings or your device's privacy controls (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking; Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads).
Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC): detects and reports technical errors in the App. Uses a device installation identifier stored in app-level storage to associate crash reports with a device instance. Used solely to diagnose and fix stability issues.
Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC): delivers push notifications to your device using a registration token. You may disable push notifications at any time through your device's notification settings.
Google reCAPTCHA: where used within the App, operates using device signals rather than browser cookies, on the same security basis described in Section 3.2.
5. Cookies Not Used by Petme
For clarity: we do not use in-app advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, cross-site behavioural tracking cookies, or any cookies that build advertising profiles about you.
6. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
Because all cookies currently in use are strictly necessary or security-based, there are no optional cookies to accept or decline. You cannot opt out of strictly necessary cookies without affecting the functionality of the Website.
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings at any time. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in and using core features of the Website.
For App-level data collection, use the privacy controls in your device settings as described in Section 4.
7. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We will update this Policy before introducing any new cookie category, particularly analytics or advertising cookies, and will implement an appropriate consent mechanism at that time. The date of the most recent update is shown at the top of this page.
