Common questions
About these free pet tools
What they cost, how they work, and where the numbers come from.
Are these pet tools really free?
Yes. Every calculator and generator here is free to use, with no signup, no email, and no paywall. There is no premium tier and nothing is held back behind an account. Petme makes money from bookings, not from these tools.
Do I need a Petme account to use them?
No. You can open any tool, get your result, and leave without creating an account or entering an email. The care card and bio generators run entirely in your browser, so what you type is never sent to a server.
How accurate are the dog and cat food calculators?
They use the resting energy requirement formula vets use: 70 times bodyweight in kg to the power 0.75, times a life-stage factor. That gives a solid starting point, but puppies, pregnancy, and medical diets differ, so confirm the amount with your vet.
Can I use the cost calculators outside the US?
The cost calculators are built per country because rates and currencies differ. This page links the US, Canada, and UK versions; Spanish and Italian cost calculators live on the /es/herramientas and /it/strumenti hubs.
What is the pet care card for?
It turns your feeding schedule, medication, vet contact, and routine into a single printable page you hand to a sitter. It means the person watching your pet has every instruction in one place instead of a scattered text thread.
Can I share a result with someone?
Yes. The calculators keep your inputs in the page link, so you can bookmark a result or send it to a partner or sitter and they see the same numbers. The care card and checklist print or save to PDF for the same reason.
