Why it works

A sitter following a written card makes fewer mistakes.

Most pet-care problems during a trip are not emergencies. They are small gaps: the wrong portion of food, a missed pill, a walk at the wrong time, a door left open because nobody mentioned the cat bolts. A single written reference closes those gaps before they happen.

The card below is built from what experienced sitters actually ask for at the meet-and-greet. Fill in the sections that apply to your pet, skip the ones that do not, and hand over a sheet that answers the questions before they come up. It works for a paid sitter, a neighbor, or family watching the house.

What goes on the card

Six sections that cover almost every stay.

Each maps to a question sitters say they wish every owner answered up front.

Feeding done right

Brand, exact portion, and times of day. The single most common thing owners forget to write down is where the food actually lives and what counts as a treat versus a meal.

Medication with no guessing

Name, dose, timing, and method. A sitter should never have to interpret a pill bottle. Spell it out, then show it in person at the meet-and-greet.

The daily routine

Walk times, leash habits, the neighbor dog to avoid. For cats, litter location and how often to scoop. Routine is what keeps a pet calm while you are away.

Vet and medical history

Clinic name, phone, after-hours emergency vet, allergies, and authorization to seek care. The five minutes this saves in an emergency can matter enormously.

House notes

Key or lockbox, alarm code, Wi-Fi, the door that sticks, trash day. The small things a stranger walking in cold would never guess.

Who to call

Your number, a travel partner, a local friend, and a neighbor with a key. So the sitter is never stranded, for a pet emergency or anything else.

Common questions

How the generator works.

Privacy, printing, sharing, and how the card fits alongside a meet-and-greet.

Is the pet care card generator free?
Yes. The tool is completely free, with no account, no signup, and no email required. Fill in the form, print the card or save it as a PDF, and you are done. Petme is a pet-sitting platform, and this is one of the free tools we offer pet owners.
Where is my pet information stored?
Nowhere. Everything you type stays in your browser and is never sent to a server. The photo you upload is read locally on your device for the printed card only. Close the tab and the data is gone, unless you save the PDF or copy the share link yourself.
How do I save the card as a PDF?
Press "Print or save as PDF". In the print dialog, choose "Save as PDF" as the destination instead of a printer. The card prints as a clean one-page sheet with your pet photo, every section you filled in, and the Petme footer.
Can I share the card with my sitter without printing it?
Yes. Press "Copy share link" and the tool builds a URL that reopens the form with your details already filled in. Send that link to your sitter or family member and they can view or print the same card. The link carries the text only, not the photo.
What should I put in the quirks and fears section?
Anything that would surprise a stranger: thunderstorm panic, fear of the vacuum, a dog that bolts at the door, where the pet hides when scared, and what calms them down. This is the section sitters say they wish every owner filled in.
Do I still need a meet-and-greet if I have a care card?
Yes. The card is a reference the sitter keeps during the stay, not a replacement for meeting in person. Use the meet-and-greet to walk through the card together, test the key and alarm, and show how medication is given. The card then jogs their memory once you have left.
