Keeping tails wagging while you’re away 🐕 🐾

I have hands-on experience caring for dogs, cats and fish, but my most meaningful experience has been caring for Misha, a large 37 kg senior dog. Misha belonged to my former partner, who worked long hours, so I became the person responsible for his day-to-day care. For about two years, I looked after him as if he were my own — honestly, a little like a child. I took care of his walks, feeding, daily routine, medication, comfort and general wellbeing. I became incredibly attached to him and still love him very much. Misha was already a senior dog and needed extra attention. I was responsible for giving him his medication, including medication related to his cancer treatment, and I regularly took him to veterinary appointments. This taught me to pay close attention to instructions, schedules and small changes in an animal’s behaviour or wellbeing. At 38 kg, Misha also gave me plenty of experience handling a large dog. During walks, I was always attentive to our surroundings and particularly careful when other dogs were nearby. I knew when to shorten his leash, give him more space or calmly move away from a situation. His safety — and the safety of the dogs around us — was always my responsibility. I also have experience caring for cats and fish, including feeding them, keeping their environment clean and comfortable, and following their individual routines. I know that different animals — and different personalities — need very different kinds of attention. What I learned from caring for Misha is that looking after someone’s pet is much more than feeding them and taking them for a walk. Animals become family, and I know how much trust it takes to leave yours in someone else’s care. I’m patient, attentive and responsible, and I’m very happy to follow detailed instructions and maintain your pet’s usual routine. I can also send regular photos and videos while you’re away, because I know how reassuring it is to see that your pet is safe, comfortable and happy. 🐾
