A local edge

Local know-how pays off in Sitia

Sitia runs a Mediterranean pattern: long, hot, dry summers and mild winters. Walkers who move to early-morning and post-sunset routes from June to September, carry water, and use the 5-second pavement test to protect paws keep booking through the heat, while midday-only walkers lose the whole summer.

When demand peaks

Demand peaks hard around Dekapentavgoustos in mid-August, when the cities empty for the islands and villages, and stays high across the summer tourist season; Orthodox Easter and Christmas bring a second wave. Boarding and drop-in visits lead while owners travel; walking and daycare carry the working week in the bigger cities.

Know your Sitia pickup areas

Most daycare bookings cluster Sitia Center to Toplou. Owners drop off on the way to work and collect afterwards, so an easy run to your door matters more than how far you are willing to travel. Your space decides how many dogs you take at once.

Breeds you will meet in Sitia

Owners here mostly keep Kokoni, Greek Shepherd, Labrador, French Bulldog. Knowing how those breeds behave, and saying so on your profile, is what turns a first booking into a repeat client.

Bilingual owners book faster

Owners in Greece search and message mostly in Greek. A sitter whose profile says they work in Greek as well as English is easy for local owners to book, and English helps in island and tourist areas where visiting owners look for care too.
