FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Are sitters in Mykonos really vetted?
Yes. Every sitter passes identity verification with a government ID and a background check. Their first reviews are tagged so you can see how new sitters compare to established ones.
What does the 0% owner fee actually mean?
Other platforms charge pet owners a service fee on top of the sitter's rate at checkout. Petme charges pet owners 0%. You pay the rate the sitter sets, nothing else.
How does the cashback work in Mykonos?
When you complete a booking with a sitter in Mykonos, Petme credits cashback back into your in-app balance. You can spend the balance on your next booking. No expiry, no minimum.
Can I book a sitter for the August holiday in Mykonos?
Yes. The Δεκαπενταύγουστος (August 15) holiday is the highest-demand week in Greece. Book your sitter at least 3 weeks ahead. Easter and Christmas follow the same pattern.
What happens if my pet needs a vet?
If something happens during a booking, every Petme stay includes up to €20,000 in vet expenses at no extra cost. The protection has no deductible. Open a ticket from inside the booking and we handle it.
Is Petme an app or a website?
Both. Browse and read profiles on the website. Booking, messages, and cashback all run inside the iOS and Android app.
Is Petme available across Greece?
Yes. Verified sitters operate in every major Greek city including Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Heraklion, plus the islands of Mykonos, Santorini, Corfu, Paros, Naxos, Rhodes, Chania, and many more.
How much can I save with the 0% owner fee?
On a typical five-night dog boarding booking, you save €22-€30 in pet-owner service fees alone. Add automatic cashback and the effective saving grows with every booking.
Are background checks real?
Yes. Every sitter passes identity verification with a government ID and a background check before profiles go live. Profiles with falsified information are removed.
Do I need separate vet insurance?
No. Every booking includes up to €20,000 in vet expenses at no extra cost, with no deductible, and applies whether the booking is one walk or a two-week boarding.
How does cashback work for repeat bookings?
Cashback applies to every completed booking, not just the first. The more you book, the more you save. Most Greek owners spend their cashback on the next boarding or walk.
