FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does Petme offer cat sitting across Ireland?
Yes. You can find verified sitters in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Waterford, Drogheda, Dundalk, Kilkenny, Bray, Navan, Athlone, Carlow, Ennis, Tralee, Swords, and every other Irish town.
How much cashback do I get?
You earn automatic cashback into your Petme balance on every completed booking. Spend the balance on your next booking with any sitter.
Are sitters in Ireland insured?
The Protection Plan can contribute up to €20,000 toward eligible vet costs. You do not need separate insurance to use Petme.
How is a sitter verified?
Identity verification using a government ID, a background check, and real reviews from other pet owners. Sitters with falsified profiles are removed.
Can I message multiple sitters before booking?
Yes. Message as many sitters as you want. Set up a meet and greet with your favourite, then book inside the app.
When are the busiest booking windows in Ireland?
Christmas week, Easter, the August bank holiday weekend, and the GAA All-Ireland finals weekend all see a spike in bookings. Book two to three weeks ahead for those windows.
How much does cat sitting cost in Ireland?
Sitters set their own rates, so you see the exact price before you book. As a guide across Ireland, dog walks run about €12 to €25, drop-in visits €15 to €25, and overnight boarding or house sitting €25 to €55 per night. You pay 0% service fee and earn cashback on top.
Is a Petme sitter better than a kennel or cattery?
A Petme sitter keeps your pet in a home environment with one-to-one attention, daily photo updates, and their usual routine, which lowers stress compared with a boarding kennel. You also pick the exact person who cares for your pet rather than dropping them at a facility.
How do I find cat sitting near me in Ireland?
Open your city page, browse verified sitters near you by neighbourhood, and message as many as you like in chat. Set up a free meet and greet with your favourite, then book and pay securely inside the app.
