A local edge

Local know-how pays off in Ennis

Ennis has a mild, very wet, windy maritime climate that rarely freezes. Walkers who carry a raincoat and a towel, plan sheltered routes on the wettest days, and keep a steady schedule through the drizzle earn the repeat bookings that fair-weather walkers lose.

When demand peaks

Demand peaks over the summer holidays and the year-end break, plus the mid-term and bank-holiday weekends. Boarding and house sitting lead when owners travel; walking and drop-in visits carry the working week for commuters.

Know your Ennis areas

Most cat bookings cluster Clonroadmore to Clarecastle. Owners book the sitter who can reach them quickly for a daily visit, so the areas you list matter more than the distance you are willing to travel.

What does a typical cat sitting visit involve?
A standard drop-in runs 20 to 30 minutes: feeding, fresh water, litter scooping, playtime, and a photo update to the owner in chat. Many Ennis owners book one or two visits a day while they travel.
Can I set my own visit schedule in Ennis?

What protection do I get on cat sitting bookings?
The Petme Protection Plan offers up to €20,000 for eligible vet costs for the cat in your care, subject to its terms. The same terms apply whether you sit in Clonroadmore or Lifford.
Where is cat sitting demand strongest in Ennis?
Ennis is the largest town in Clare and a tourism gateway to the west coast. Shannon Airport boarding plus a steady stream of weekend visitors create a year-round sitter market. Most cat owners book a sitter within their own neighborhood, so listing the areas you cover sharpens your visibility.
Is cat minding in Ennis busier at any time of year?
Yes, around travel. Cat visits in Ennis cluster over the summer holidays, the year-end break and the mid-term weekends, because a cat left at home needs someone calling in once or twice a day rather than a kennel. The rest of the year runs on owners away for a night or two, which is steadier and easier to fit around other work.
