Frequently asked
Questions from Fond Għadir owners
Can dogs swim at Fond Għadir bay?
During the bathing season the bay is restricted; outside of bathing season (Oct-Apr) dogs can enter the water with supervision at the quieter rocky stretches.
Is the Fond Għadir promenade easy for senior dogs?
Yes. The promenade between Qui-Si-Sana and the bay is flat and short, with multiple shaded bench points for senior-dog rest stops.
Are sitters available at short notice?
Yes. Fond Għadir has a dense local sitter pool and same-day or next-day drop-in visits are usually available, especially mid-week.
How do sitters handle the summer heat in Fond Għadir?
By moving the day around it. Walks go early in the morning and again after sunset, pavements get checked with a hand before a dog is taken out on them, and the middle of the day is for shade, water and quiet indoors. Agree the timings with your Sliema sitter when you book, and say so if your dog is a flat-faced breed or an older one that struggles in the heat.
What do I need to have in order before booking in Fond Għadir?
Your dog should be microchipped and on the national register, which is required in Malta under the Electronic Identification of Dogs Regulations. Beyond that, give your Fond Għadir sitter the vet you use, the feeding routine, and a note of how your dog behaves with other dogs on a narrow street, which comes up more in Sliema than in most places.
What does Petme cover in Fond Għadir?
Verified pet sitters offering boarding, in-home sitting, drop-in visits and dog walks across Fond Għadir. The Protection Plan can contribute up to €20,000 toward eligible vet costs.
Is there a booking fee?
No. Petme charges 0% to pet owners. The rate on the sitter's profile is exactly what you pay at checkout.
