Frequently asked
Questions from Burmarrad owners
Are the country lanes safe for dogs?
Mostly yes, with basic precautions. Watch for the occasional unleashed farm dog. Most sitters know which lanes are clear of hazards and stick to them.
Can a sitter cover Burmarrad and Bugibba in one visit cycle?
Yes, with a short drive between bookings. The two areas are about 5-10 minutes apart and many sitters cover both in a daily round.
Is Burmarrad cheaper than Bugibba?
Slightly. Rural rates run a euro or two below bay-side rates for the same service.
How do sitters handle the summer heat in Burmarrad?
By moving the day around it. Walks go early in the morning and again after sunset, pavements get checked with a hand before a dog is taken out on them, and the middle of the day is for shade, water and quiet indoors. Agree the timings with your St Paul's Bay sitter when you book, and say so if your dog is a flat-faced breed or an older one that struggles in the heat.
What do I need to have in order before booking in Burmarrad?
Your dog should be microchipped and on the national register, which is required in Malta under the Electronic Identification of Dogs Regulations. Beyond that, give your Burmarrad sitter the vet you use, the feeding routine, and a note of how your dog behaves with other dogs on a narrow street, which comes up more in St Paul's Bay than in most places.
What does Petme cover in Burmarrad?
