About Pet Sitting in Almere
Almere, built on reclaimed land in Flevoland, is one of the greenest cities in the Netherlands, with nature woven into its design from the ground up. The Oostvaardersplassen nature reserve, one of Europe's most important wetland areas, borders the city and offers trails where dogs can experience wild, open landscapes. Almere Bos is a vast planted forest with cycling and walking routes, while Lumièrepark and Cascadepark provide manicured green spaces closer to the city centre.
Almere's distinct districts each cater well to pet owners. Almere Haven, the oldest quarter, has a harbour-side atmosphere with waterfront paths along the Gooimeer. Almere Buiten offers spacious family homes with large gardens and direct access to polder trails. Almere Poort, the newest district, features modern parks and wide boulevards. Muziekwijk and Filmwijk in Almere Stad are connected by a network of green corridors and water channels, creating natural walking routes between neighborhoods.
Petme makes it easy for Almere pet owners to find trusted, verified sitters across every district. The Protection Plan can contribute up to €20,000 toward eligible vet costs. Whether your dog loves exploring the forests of Almere Bos or splashing near the shores of the Gooimeer, Petme sitters in Almere know the best spots and provide attentive, personalized care.
