Local know-how pays off in Novena
Novena is warm and humid all year. May is the hottest month, with a 24-hour mean of 28.6°C, and December the wettest. Walkers who run early-morning and after-sunset routes, carry water and test the pavement before a midday walk keep dogs comfortable and keep booking.
When demand peaks
Overnight work follows the MOE school holidays, from late May to June and from late November to the end of December, when many families travel. Walks and home visits carry the working week all year.
Know your Novena routes
Most bookings cluster Thomson to Newton. Owners look for walkers who know the local parks and leash rules, and who can turn up on a regular schedule.
Breeds you will meet in Novena
Owners here mostly keep small breeds on the HDB approved list, Singapore Specials (local mixed-breed dogs). Knowing how those breeds behave, and saying so on your profile, is what turns a first booking into a repeat client.
Bilingual owners book faster
Each HDB flat may keep one dog of an approved small breed, plus up to two cats, under AVS rules. A walker who knows the estate, the void decks and the covered routes around each block is easy for HDB owners to book.
