I grew up with dogs and here’s a little list of the breeds -> 2 wire haired dachshunds, 1 golden retriever and English bull terrier. I raised two from just a few weeks old so able to do basic training and understand signs of what they are wanting! also looked after my golden retriever during arthritis and seizures. understand how to handle these situations. I also am able to give medications as I have for my English bull terrier for his ears and teeth. I also worked at just for pets so I learnt a lot about cats and dogs during this.
