Experience overview
Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a household with my mom, who was a dog trainer, and multiple rescue dogs. Being raised in that environment gave me early exposure to dogs with a wide range of personalities, temperaments, and behavioral needs. I learned the importance of patience, consistency, understanding canine body language, and using positive, gentle interactions to help dogs feel comfortable and make good choices. While I’m not a professional trainer, those early experiences have shaped the way I approach animal care today. I currently have two mini Goldendoodles of my own, Oakley and Parker, and caring for them has given me years of hands-on experience with daily pet care, exercise, routines, and understanding individual needs. One of my dogs is reactive, which has taught me to be especially attentive to surroundings, recognize potential triggers, and adjust walks based on a dog’s comfort level. I believe walks should be enjoyable rather than rushed, with plenty of opportunities to sniff, explore, and take breaks. I also have extensive personal experience caring for a dog with a complex chronic medical condition. This has involved maintaining specialized routines, administering daily medications, managing specific food and water requirements, and paying close attention to changes in behavior and overall well-being. It has made me particularly mindful of how important it is to follow care instructions carefully, even when certain details might seem small. In addition to dogs, I’ve spent time around cats throughout my life and enjoy interacting with them, whether through play, affection, or simply giving them space to feel comfortable. I’m happy to provide basic cat drop-in care, including feeding, fresh water, litter-box maintenance, and companionship while following each owner’s instructions. I understand that trusting someone with your pets is a big responsibility. I approach every visit with patience, attentiveness, and genuine care, treating each animal as an individual and making their safety, comfort, and well-being my priority. My goal is to provide dependable, thoughtful care so owners can feel confident their pets are in good hands.
