Pet Pal of 10+ years for When You are Away

I love working with all animals. I am comfortable working with dogs, cats, small mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. Throughout my childhood and teenage years, I helped care for my family dog, a black lab named Riley. I also pet sat and dog walked for a couple of neighbors around my neighborhood throughout my college years. My final year of college I provided long-term care for 3 cats while the owners were away on a work assignment. After college, I lived in a home where I looked after my live-in landlord's dog Bailey. I then cared for another roommate's senior dog named Lucy. The care for both animals consisted of walks, feeding, and cleaning up after the animals. It also meant special care for Lucy who was on a very strict diet. While living in this apartment, I also pet sat my neighbors' cat Oliver and dog Ferdinand. I have also cared for animals abroad , most notably in Costa Rica where I was immersed in wildlife. While living in Costa Rica, I worked with an animal rescue service to find a local dog, Pinta, a safe and caring home. I fostered Pinta until we were able to secure her a pair of loving and caring owners. In the past, I have overseen a pet’s care by providing, first and foremost, its basic needs including ensuring that a pet is fed, given fresh water, let outside or taken for a walk, and cleaned up after (e.g. litter box). I also like to spend time with pets, such as keeping them company or providing playtime. I have received positive feedback from owners who like having pictures of their pets sent to them throughout the day. I also make an effort to re-inforce pet training and attend to any special requirements a pet may need.
