We have Sam, Shane’s childhood dog who is an 18 year old black Jackador with the heart of a puppy. I came into Sam’s life a little later, but somehow we’ve ended up becoming each others favourite person Sam absolutely loves being included in whatever we are doing especially if that is cooking. He is the quality inspector. He sees the car as his giant bed. If he sees us putting in shoes or coats, he will start crying to come along so he can curl up on the passenger seat and nap. At home, he quite literally has to be the centre of attention. If we are on the couch or in bed he will position himself directly between us. Even at 18, he loves going to the park, following his nose and chasing after the squirrels whenever the opportunity arises. Having an older dog has also taught us to adapt to what he neeeds as he’s aged while still doing all the things that make him Sam. We absolutely adore him and see him as the best part of the family. Which is the same way we’d see your pet !
