Experience overview
I have a lifetime of experience caring for animals and have built my knowledge through both hands-on experience and professional qualifications. Through Pawsome Pals Pet Care, I have cared for a huge variety of animals and personalities, from young puppies and energetic breeds to elderly, nervous and reactive dogs. I have experience with a particularly wide range of dog breeds, including Huskies, Malamutes, German and Belgian Shepherds, Border Collies, Labradors, Retrievers, Dobermans, Rottweilers, Staffies, Spaniels, Poodles, Dachshunds, Bulldogs, Pugs and many more. I have also cared for cats, horses, farm animals, birds, reptiles, small mammals, insects and both freshwater and saltwater fish. Alongside my practical experience, I hold qualifications in Working with Dogs, Dog Breed & Behaviour, Canine Body Language, Dog Grooming, Animal Welfare & Management, Feline Behaviour & Body Language, as well as a diploma in Equine Behaviour & Management. I have particular experience with dogs who are reactive, nervous, anxious or struggle with separation, and I understand how important it is to approach every animal as an individual. I am patient and observant, and I take the time to understand their body language, boundaries and unique personality rather than expecting every pet to respond in the same way. I have also been house sitting for family, friends and neighbours since I was a teenager, so I am very comfortable caring for animals within their own homes and maintaining their usual routines. My experience has taught me that great pet care isn't simply about feeding and walking an animal - it's about creating a sense of safety, familiarity, companionship and trust while their person is away.
