Check the home as well as the cat. On a Gavle winter visit that means confirming the heating is still on, moving the water bowl away from a drafty window, keeping the feeding and litter routine exactly as the owner left it, and reporting anything off the same day. Owners who travel over the dark months and the Christmas break rebook the sitters who notice the apartment, not just the pet.
