You get up to $22,000 through the Protection Plan for eligible vet costs, meaningful coverage given that emergency visits to VERGI 24/7 or Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists can run into the thousands. FAQ
Common questions about cat sitting in Houston
How much does cat sitting cost in Houston?
Houston cat sitting drop-in visits typically run $18 to $35 per visit, among the most affordable rates in the major US metros. Petme charges 0% owner commission, so the per-visit rate is the full price.
How do Houston sitters handle summer heat for indoor cats?
Most Houston homes are AC-controlled but power outages and storms are real risks. Discuss AC setpoints, generator availability, and emergency-plan logistics with the sitter, especially during hurricane season.
Can I find sitters for senior or special-needs cats in Houston?
Yes. Many Petme Houston sitters list experience with senior cats, kidney disease, hyperthyroid, diabetic care, and other special needs. Filter by "senior" or "medication" when searching.
What about hurricane season and severe weather?
Houston sitters monitor NWS alerts and follow city evacuation guidance. Confirm an emergency plan during the meet-and-greet, especially for bookings between June and November.
Can I book recurring visits for daily care while I travel for work?
Yes. Many Houston sitters accept ongoing recurring schedules: daily visits during work weeks, every-other-day, or weekend-only. Message your preferred sitter to set up the cadence.
