Question 1

Does a Mississauga winter change how a sitter visits Cooksville?

Accepted Answer

It changes what gets checked. Forced-air heating dries indoor air out over the winter, so water intake matters more and a sitter will top up and reposition bowls rather than just refill them. Ice storms and the outages that follow are the other winter risk, so agree in advance who to call if the heat goes out while you are away from Cooksville.

Question 2

My cat hides from strangers in Cooksville. Is that a problem?

Accepted Answer

It is the most common reaction and it does not affect the visit. An experienced sitter in Cooksville will not force contact: food and litter get handled, the cat comes out on its own schedule, and most appear by the second or third visit. Until then the photos and the litter box tell you what you need to know, which is that your cat is eating and using it while you are out of Mississauga.

Question 3

How much does a cat sitter cost in Mississauga?

Accepted Answer

Drop-in cat visits in Mississauga typically cost $20 to $30 CAD per visit. Square One, Port Credit, and lakeshore condos sit at the higher end; Meadowvale and Streetsville are a little lower. Overnight in-home sitting runs $50 to $80 CAD per night. Sitters set their own rate and you see the total before booking.

Question 4

I live in a Square One condo. Can the sitter handle building access?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Hand the sitter a fob and key at the meet and greet. Most Square One condos do not require visitor registration for short visits, but if yours does, leave the sitter's name with the concierge. Mention any fob restrictions, garage access, or elevator quirks in the booking notes.

Question 5

My family is going abroad for two weeks. Will Petme cover that?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Two-week bookings are common in Mississauga because so many families travel from Pearson. Book one or two visits per day depending on the cat's needs. For longer trips, message the sitter to confirm continuous availability and arrange a meet and greet at least a week before departure.

Question 6

Do Mississauga sitters cover Erin Mills and Meadowvale?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sitters set their own coverage areas; many cover their own pocket of the city, and some cover the whole of Mississauga. Use the Mississauga filter and check each sitter's coverage map. Erin Mills, Meadowvale, Streetsville, and Clarkson are all well covered.

Question 7

My cat is on medication for arthritis. Can the sitter manage?

Accepted Answer

Yes if the sitter is medication-experienced. Filter for 'medication experienced' and message a few sitters in chat. Show them the medication form and dose. Daily anti-inflammatory tablets or liquid joint supplements are routine for Mississauga sitters who handle senior-cat care.

Question 8

How do I find a sitter near Pearson airport for a same-day pickup?

Accepted Answer

Most Petme bookings are scheduled at least a day or two ahead, not same-day. For frequent travellers near Pearson, the best approach is to do meet-and-greets with two or three sitters in advance, save them as favourites, and book them whenever travel is confirmed.

Question 9

My cat hides in a closet when strangers come. Will the sitter find them?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Mississauga sitters are used to shy cats. The sitter refills food and water, scoops the litter, looks for the cat without forcing interaction, and reports what they observed. Most shy cats start showing up by the third or fourth visit once the sitter is part of the routine.

Question 10

Is the CAD 32,000 Protection Plan valid at Mississauga vet clinics?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every Petme booking in Mississauga includes up to CAD 32,000 in emergency Protection Plan at any licensed Ontario vet clinic during the sitter's care window. No deductible, no enrollment, no extra fee. Coverage runs from the first visit to the last visit of the booking.
