Dog walkers across Montreal

Montreal local dog walkers set their own rate and you see it before you book. Petme takes 0% from owners, credits cashback automatically, and the Protection Plan can contribute up to CAD 32,000 toward eligible vet costs.

Service runs in French or English, whichever you book in. In the older cores the exterior staircase is part of the job, and so is rinsing salt off paws between December and March. That is the ground Montreal verified dog walkers work on every day.

Dog walking in Montreal

How dog walking works in Montreal

Dog walking in Montreal means working with the city's grid of triplex stairs, alleys, and parks, so walkers cover the Plateau-Mont-Royal, Mile End, and Outremont on foot loops that take in Parc La Fontaine or the Mount Royal trails. Owners in Griffintown and Old Montreal condos and in family streets across NDG, Verdun, and Rosemont mostly book recurring weekday walks at CAD 22-40 per walk. Winters here are long and salted, so an experienced Montreal walker carries paw balm, sticks to plowed routes, and shortens the loop on deep-cold days; many also handle bookings in French or English, which suits bilingual households.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What about winter walks in Montreal?

Experienced Montreal walkers use pet-safe ice melt zones, paw balm, and shorter loops in extreme cold. Discuss your dog’s cold tolerance at the meet and greet.

will my Montreal walker manage the triplex stairs and winter sidewalks?

Yes. Montreal walkers are used to exterior triplex staircases in the Plateau and Verdun and to icy, salted sidewalks through the winter. They typically pick plowed main routes, use paw balm, and trim the loop in extreme cold. Leave clear entry instructions for your staircase or buzzer in chat before the first walk.

can I book a Montreal walker who works in French?

Yes. Many Montreal walkers are bilingual and handle the booking, updates, and meet and greet in French or English. Pick whichever you prefer in chat and the walker will keep all messages and photo updates in that language.

How much does dog walking cost in Montreal?

CAD 22–40 per walk is typical for a 30-60 minute walk in Montreal. Walkers set their own rates and you see the exact price before booking.

Are dog walkers in Montreal insured?

The Protection Plan can contribute up to CAD 32,000 toward eligible vet costs at any licensed Canadian vet clinic.

Do walkers in Montreal pick up after my dog?

Yes. Picking up after the dog is standard and included in the rate. Confirm any specific preferences at the meet and greet.

Can I book a weekly recurring walk?

Yes. Recurring walks (Monday-Friday at the same time, for example) are common in Montreal and most walkers offer a small discount for recurring bookings.
