FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does a pet sitter cost in Kitchener?

Typical rates in Kitchener are CAD 40–60 per night for dog boarding, CAD 18–28 per dog walk, and CAD 20–35 per drop-in visit. Sitters set their own rates and they’re shown on each profile.

Are sitters in Kitchener really vetted?

Yes. Every sitter in Kitchener passes identity verification with a government ID and a background check. First reviews are tagged so you can see how new sitters compare to established ones.

What does the 0% owner fee actually mean in Kitchener?

Other platforms charge pet owners a service fee on top of the sitter’s rate at checkout. Petme charges pet owners 0%. You pay only the rate the sitter sets, in CAD.

How does the cashback work for Kitchener bookings?

When you complete a booking with a sitter in Kitchener, Petme credits cashback into your in-app balance. Spend it on your next booking. No expiry, no minimum.

What if my pet needs a vet during a Kitchener stay?

The Protection Plan can contribute up to CAD 32,000 toward eligible vet costs at any licensed Canadian vet clinic. See the Protection Plan terms for what qualifies and how to submit a request.

Can I find a weekend dog walker in Downtown Kitchener?

Yes. Kitchener sitters list weekend availability on their profiles. Filter by your dates and you only see sitters who are free on those days. Many Downtown Kitchener sitters also do daily drop-ins for owners commuting downtown.

How do Kitchener sitters handle winter dog walks?

Experienced Kitchener sitters use pet-safe ice melt zones, paw balm for salt and ice, and shorter loops when temperatures drop. Discuss your dog’s cold tolerance at the meet and greet.
