House sitting in Ottawa

How house sitting works in Ottawa

House sitting in Ottawa keeps your pet at home with an overnight sitter, useful through the long winter and convenient for the condo towers around Centretown and the ByWard Market where in-and-out access is a hassle. Sitters in The Glebe, Westboro or Old Ottawa South keep the routine and furnace going, clear mail and flyers, and manage greenbelt-edge or Rideau Canal walks safely once the snow and ice arrive. For suburban Kanata, Barrhaven or Orleans homes they also keep an eye on driveways and entries so the place looks occupied. Ottawa house sitting is about CAD 50 to 90 per night, with no owner booking fee and CAD 32,000 of Protection Plan included.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are sitters in Ottawa verified?

Yes. Every sitter passes identity verification with a government ID and a background check.

What if my pet needs a vet during the stay?

Every booking in Ottawa includes up to CAD 32,000 in vet expenses at any licensed Canadian vet clinic. No deductible. Open a ticket from inside the booking.

is house sitting practical for an Ottawa condo near the ByWard Market?

Yes, house sitting suits Centretown and ByWard Market condos because the sitter stays overnight rather than buzzing in and out, so there's no repeated lobby and elevator traffic. You hand over the fobs at the meet-and-greet and the sitter follows your building's access and parking rules. That keeps a tower-dwelling cat or dog in its own space while you're away.

how does an Ottawa house sitter handle winter walks on icy paths?

An Ottawa house sitter keeps the walk routine through winter, choosing cleared sidewalks and shortening outings when the canal-side and greenbelt paths in The Glebe or Westboro turn icy. They wipe road salt from paws afterward and keep your home heated overnight. Note your preferred routes and any ice-sensitive joints or coat needs in the booking details.

How much does house sitting cost in Ottawa?

CAD 50–90 per night is typical per night in Ottawa. Sitters set their own rates and you see the exact price before booking.

What does a house sit include?

Overnight stays at your home with your pet, feeding, walks for dogs, litter for cats, mail collection, and photo updates. Discuss specifics at the meet and greet.

Is the sitter at my home the whole time?

Most sitters in Ottawa stay overnight and the majority of the day, with a few short outings as agreed. Confirm the rhythm in chat.
