Cat care tips for Lubbock

Keep your cat safe through Lubbock's extreme West Texas weather

Extreme West Texas summer heat

Lubbock summers are intensely hot, with temperatures regularly exceeding 100°F and humidity that can make it feel significantly hotter. Air conditioning must run continuously during summer months. Ask your sitter to verify indoor temperatures at every visit.

Lubbock dry climate hydration

Lubbock's arid climate and extreme summer heat make dehydration a genuine risk. A water fountain is essential year-round, and wet food should be part of daily meals during hot months. Monitor litter box output carefully during any summer booking.

West Texas dust storms

Lubbock sits on the Llano Estacado and experiences regular dust storms that can reduce visibility to near zero and fill homes with fine dust. Keep windows sealed during dust events and brief your sitter on your home's ventilation before any spring or summer booking.

West Texas tornado and hail season

Lubbock is in Tornado Alley and experiences significant hail events, particularly in spring. Ensure your sitter knows your home's safest interior area and has an emergency plan for severe weather during any spring or early summer booking.
