carlaThings I’ve learnt being a reactive dog mother:
1. A reactive dog doesn’t mean they are a bad dog
2. It’s not a reflection on you as a dog parent, it’s just something that they can’t control and you can help them navigate it just as much as they can help you
3. The people who know you and your dog and support you are the only people who matter because they see what you see, and the work you put in to help them
4. Not to let other peoples opinions and judgement cloud your journey together or allow you to have a negative outlook on how far you’ve come
5. Not to assume everyone on instagram has the perfect dog, just because they take good photographs. Instagram is not real life and everyone has something they struggle with - including dogs
6. That there are people out there who can help. Being reactive is not the end of the world and there are people who can help. Invest in your dogs so that they can be the best they can be
7. It’s okay to be angry and upset if you have a bad day, but don’t allow it to cause negativity in your relationship with your dog. It’s not their fault, theyre doing the best they can
8. They’re reactive, and that’s okay 🤍
