alisssonSomething so interesting about getting a dog is the changes that come with that. We all know it will be different because it’s a huge responsibility and a long term commitment… but I think there’s different types of dog ownership. There’s a trend going around where the caption is “can I bring my dog? Because it’s their first time living too” and I couldn’t relate more to it if I wanted to and it perfectly describes what I’m trying to get to here, because that’s the kind of dog owner I am now.
I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t always a big fan of hiking, so Kai would only go with my dad before on the weekends or whenever he wanted to take him and I would rarely ever join. But then I realized how much Kai loved being out in nature and exploring in the mountains, so then I changed my lifestyle to fit this in as much as I could and I haven’t looked back since. I’m happier and healthier, it gets us both outside for some really good exercise and the summits, alpine lakes or waterfalls are always worth it, especially with my crazy chocolate. I realized I want him to experience life as much as possible, so if I can bring my dog, I will!
We haven’t been out to the mountains in 2 weeks because I hurt my knee running, but I’m nearing the end of my half marathon training and once we’re past that, I’m so excited to be able to get out way more!
Anyway, friends…explore more! And say hi to your dogs from me and Kai🫶🏼
