theadventuredobesA breakdown of each aspect šŸ‘‡šŸ» 1. The ā€˜start up’ command is going to make it really clear that play is about to start and will give your dog that extra boost of energy. I normally wait until Lonzo barks or offers a behaviour back before we start to tug with our favourite toy from @fenrircanineleaders . Love how it fits in to my pocket! 2. The ā€˜fight’ - how everyone views tug of war. Figure out what your dog likes and give them lots of encouragement. Let them win it from time to time , like really win it, not just hand it to them! And you try to really steal it from them. 3. The ā€˜stalk’ - this is the moment you are trying to steal back the toy. Think big cat stalking it’s prey. Slowly moving, getting closer, crouching, before suddenly… STRIKE. 4. The ā€˜out’ - probably one of the most important aspects of play. Teach a fast out by showing the dog that ā€˜out’ simply means a break in play and they will get it back quickly. Not that the play is over. 5. The ā€˜celebration lap’ - this is an important part of play many people miss. Let your dog parade the toy around and show everyone how amazing they are! 6. Obedience work. Sprinkling in some obedience work will allow you to create some very strong behaviours due to the motivation the dog has to play! #dogtraining #tugtoy #tug
