marieVisit Anteloppe Canyon with your dog 🥹🐾🧡 You MUST add this one to your bucketlist - it was probably one of the best days of my life You’ve probably already seen photos of Anteloppe Canyon in Arizona, USA. Unfortunately, to see these famous spots, you must book a guided tour that is extremely crowdy, expensive and no dogs allowed. BUT, there is another way to visit this canyon with your dog! Just head to the Anteloppe Point marina and rent a kayak or SUP so your dog can make the trip with you. It’s about 7 km paddling round trip and once there, you have to hike in the sand for a few kilometers. They advise everyone to turn around after 2 km, but we did 9 km hiking round trip and it was 100% worth it. We had the canyon all to ourselves! TIPS 🛶 We arrived as soon as the marina opened in order to get a kayak, but it’s best to book in advance. ☀️ We were there at the beginning of April, so the temperature was great. I wouldn't recommend it in midsummer. Either spring or fall! 🌊 Start your trip early in the morning. The water in the canyon is super calm and you’ll have all day to enjoy it! 🥾 Bring food, plenty of water, hats, sunscreen, hiking shoes, dry bag, camera, first-aid kit, leash and life jacket for your dog. 💪🏼 Keep in mind that you have to come back, so save your energy for the return trip. 💩 Make sure your dog has done all his business before you venture out on the water. There aren’t really any places to stop easily. 🗑️ Leave no trace, please.
