As the sun hides behind the horizon and the shadow of Chautauqua runs free, a gnawing, scraping, wrenching howl pierces the valley on All Hallows Eve. Her eyes burn black. Claws cut fire. Fur writhes in the wind and her teeth, they say, smolder fresh from the underworld. Tales of her fury pass second hand for no witness has lived. Nobody knows why she appears.
