Choosing wisely

What to look for in a pet sitting app in Spain

Three questions worth asking before you book.

Is the price you see the price you pay?

Some apps add a service fee at checkout, meaning the rate shown on a sitter profile is not what you pay. On Petme, the listed rate is the final rate. Rover adds a service fee when you confirm, and publishes the current rate on its own site. On Petme, a €100 booking costs €100.

Is the pet covered if it needs a vet?

Both Petme and Rover include the Protection Plan on every booking in Spain. Rover covers this via the Rover Guarantee. Petme covers up to €20,000. Both are meaningful amounts for emergency vet treatment. Petme includes this at no owner fee; Rover includes it but adds a service fee to your booking cost.

Does the platform reward loyalty?

Petme automatically credits cashback after every booking. The balance builds up and reduces the cost of future bookings with no action required. Rover does not offer cashback or any loyalty rewards to pet owners in Spain.
