A local edge

Local know-how pays off in Biel/Bienne

Biel/Bienne owners book overnight boarding and daytime daycare around work trips and holidays. Sitters who can host from a home or apartment near a park stay busy through the year.

When demand peaks

Boarding fills up around school holidays and business-travel periods, while daycare runs steadily through the working week.

Know your Biel/Bienne pickup areas

Requests come from Madretsch, Mett, Bözingen and the Altstadt, and from Nidau, Port and Brügg across the canal. The city is small enough to cross on foot, so what usually decides a booking is the language you answer in and whether your drop-off window opens early enough for a factory start.

Breeds you will meet in Biel/Bienne

Owners here mostly keep Bernese Mountain Dogs, Labradors, Border Collies, French Bulldogs. Knowing how those breeds behave, and saying so on your profile, is what turns a first booking into a repeat client.

Bilingual owners book faster

Biel/Bienne is officially bilingual, sitting on the German-French language line. Sitters who speak both serve households from both communities.

Daycare on the language line in Biel/Bienne

Biel/Bienne runs in two languages at once, and daycare is no different: the same host can be arranging a Monday in German and a Tuesday in French. The watch industry the city is known for, and the workshops around Bözingen and Mett, set a working day that starts early, so drop-offs here come sooner than a host would expect in a city of office jobs. Owners in Madretsch and the Altstadt live in flats and want a host with an obvious midday route, which the Bielersee shore and the Taubenloch gorge both provide. Further out in Nidau, Port and Brügg gardens are more common and requests lean towards larger dogs. Saying which language you prefer saves everyone a message.

Common questions

Doggy Daycare Jobs in Biel/Bienne

What new sitters ask before signing up on Petme in Biel/Bienne.

How much do doggy daycare hosts earn per day in Biel/Bienne?
Doggy daycare on Petme in Biel/Bienne runs CHF 40 to CHF 70 per day. You set your own day rate and headcount, and you keep up to 90% of every booking.
Can I set my own daycare schedule and headcount in Biel/Bienne?
Yes. You choose your days, your hours, and how many dogs you host at a time, and you accept or decline each request. No assigned shifts and no minimum hours, whether owners come from Old Town or Madretsch.
What protection comes with daycare bookings?
The Petme Protection Plan offers up to CHF 20,000 for eligible vet costs for the dog in your care, subject to its terms. The same terms apply across Old Town and Madretsch.
What does a doggy daycare day involve?
Owners drop off in the morning and pick up after work. You provide a safe space, supervised play, water, rest time, and photo updates through the day. Most Biel/Bienne hosts take a small group they can manage comfortably.
Do I need a yard or a commercial space for daycare in Biel/Bienne?
No. Many Petme hosts run daycare from a home or an apartment with regular walk breaks, from Old Town to Madretsch. You set how many dogs you accept at once and whether your space suits high-energy or large breeds.
What does a winter daycare day look like in Biel/Bienne?
Mostly indoors, in shorter bursts. A Biel/Bienne winter day runs on indoor play and rest with brief outdoor breaks inside the daylight window, towels by the door, and grit wiped off paws after every trip out. Daycare follows the working week, so it holds steady all year and picks back up each January once commuters are back at their desks.
Is there part-time work with dogs in Biel/Bienne?
Daycare fits a part-time week well, because you open only the days you choose. Local working days start early here, so a host who can open early has an advantage. You set your own day rate, cap the number of dogs you take, and accept or decline each request as it arrives.
Do I need both German and French to host in Biel/Bienne?
No, one is enough, but saying which you work in matters more here than anywhere else in Switzerland. The city is officially bilingual and owners message in either language. If you also work in English, add it. Most of the arrangement happens in the booking chat before the first day.
