Miami dog sitter prices, Brickell to Kendall, with a holiday cruise budget

October 13, 20266 min read
TL;DR: A dog sitter in Miami costs $45 to $75 a night for most boarding at the sitter's home, with Brickell and Key Biscayne sitters reaching $85 to $90, and $18 to $28 for an hour-long walk. A typical night is around $55. Six nights away on a holiday cruise come to $270 to $450 at the main band, or $330 at the median. Platform data as of October 2026. Miami prices depend on where you live more than anything else. A Brickell condo sitter and a Kendall sitter with a yard can both look after your dog well, and the Brickell one will usually cost $15 to $25 more a night. This guide goes area by area, then prices the trip Miami owners take more than most: a cruise over the holidays.

Miami rates at a glance

Every sitter sets their own rate, so these are bands, not a fixed price list. Each profile shows the exact rate, so you know the price before you book.

Brickell, South Beach and Key Biscayne

The premium end. Brickell sitters list at $60 to $85 a night, mostly in condos, and many take only small to mid-size dogs because of building rules. South Beach runs $55 to $80, with walks to South Pointe Park. Key Biscayne is a small market at $60 to $90. If you live in a high-rise, a sitter in the same area knows the elevator, the doorman and the building's dog rules, which is part of what you are paying for.

Coral Gables, Coconut Grove and Wynwood

The middle of the market. Coral Gables and Coconut Grove sitters run $50 to $75 a night. Coral Gables has more single-family homes with yards, and the Grove has shaded streets that make walks easier in summer. Wynwood runs $50 to $70, mostly loft sitters, with walks to Margaret Pace Park.

Aventura, Doral and Kendall

The better-value side. Aventura sitters run $45 to $65 in a mix of condos and townhouses. Doral and Kendall sit at $45 to $60, often in single-family homes with yards, and many sitters there speak Spanish first. For a large dog, a Kendall or Doral home with a yard is usually the best match for the money.

Six nights on a holiday cruise, priced out

The stretch from Christmas to New Year is when cruise departures peak and many condo owners are away a week or more. Here is a six-night trip. The middle row uses $55 a night, the Miami median in Petme's own rate example for Brickell.

On Petme the owner booking fee is 0%, so the sitter's total is the bill, and Petme credits cashback after a completed booking. Book the holiday weeks early. Cruise dates are fixed, and the sitters you want fill up first.

Hurricane season and your sitter

From June to November, a trip can collide with a storm. Talk through the plan with your sitter before you leave, because a sitter may need to evacuate with your dog.

Miami-Dade runs pet-friendly evacuation centers during emergencies. According to the county's pet preparedness page, pre-registration is not required, but owners must show proof of residence in an evacuation zone and bring medical and current vaccination records for each pet. Annual rabies vaccinations and a visible Miami-Dade County dog license are required, each household may bring up to four pets, and at least one family member must stay at the center with the pet. Because the rules are written around the owner, ask your sitter what they would do instead, and leave copies of the rabies certificate and license, plus a crate and a few extra days of food.

Spring break is the other busy stretch, when college and family travel make boarding the bottleneck. Thanksgiving week is heavy too, with travel out of MIA and family visits to Latin America. For how far ahead to plan, see the holiday pet sitting guide.

Summer heat changes the walk. Shaded streets and early or late outings are the norm from May to October. The guide to dehydration and heat stroke in dogs lists what to watch for.

Boarding or a sitter at home

Boarding at $45 to $75 suits a social dog. A house sitter at $50 to $100 keeps your dog in its own condo or house, which helps an older or anxious dog and avoids a building that does not allow visiting dogs. Compare dog boarding in Miami with house sitting in Miami. Further up the coast, the Jacksonville dog sitter cost guide covers a storm-season weekend there.
