A local edge

Local know-how pays off in Bochum

Bochum sits centrally in the Ruhr and is a student city: around the centre, in Ehrenfeld and Querenburg, many young owners keep indoor cats and travel home over the semester breaks and holidays. Cat sitting is one of the most flexible side jobs here.

When demand peaks

Summer holidays, Christmas and the semester breaks are the strongest weeks, when students and families leave town.

Know your Bochum areas

Most cat bookings cluster in Ehrenfeld, Weitmar and Querenburg. Owners book the sitter who can reach them quickly for a daily visit, so the areas you list matter more than the distance you are willing to travel.

Which weeks book out first for cat sitting in Bochum?
The weeks owners travel: the Sommerferien and the run from Weihnachten to Neujahr, then the shorter Osterferien and Herbstferien. Because the summer holidays are staggered by Bundesland, the busy stretch in Bochum starts and ends on its own state's calendar rather than a national one, so check yours and open those dates early. On a winter visit, confirm the heating is still on and the home has not gone cold before you leave.
