Frequently asked
Questions from Mrieħel owners
Where do Mrieħel dogs walk?
Most sitters head to the Wied il-Qlejgħa valley or the quieter Fleur-de-Lys streets. The Mrieħel bypass itself is too busy for a comfortable walk.
Are sitters available during office hours?
Yes. Mrieħel has one of the deepest weekday lunchtime walker pools on the island, which is why so many young professionals book recurring lunchtime walks here.
Is there parking for visiting sitters?
Most modern blocks have visitor parking or dedicated tenant spaces. Confirm at the meet-and-greet so the sitter knows where to park during weekday visits.
How do sitters handle the summer heat in Mrieħel?
By moving the day around it. Walks go early in the morning and again after sunset, pavements get checked with a hand before a dog is taken out on them, and the middle of the day is for shade, water and quiet indoors. Agree the timings with your Birkirkara sitter when you book, and say so if your dog is a flat-faced breed or an older one that struggles in the heat.
What do I need to have in order before booking in Mrieħel?
Your dog should be microchipped and on the national register, which is required in Malta under the Electronic Identification of Dogs Regulations. Beyond that, give your Mrieħel sitter the vet you use, the feeding routine, and a note of how your dog behaves with other dogs on a narrow street, which comes up more in Birkirkara than in most places.
What does Petme cover in Mrieħel?
Verified pet sitters offering boarding, in-home sitting, drop-in visits and dog walks across Mrieħel. The Protection Plan can contribute up to €20,000 toward eligible vet costs.
Is there a booking fee?
No. Petme charges 0% to pet owners. The rate on the sitter's profile is exactly what you pay at checkout.
