Frequently asked
Questions from Balluta Bay owners
Is the Balluta seafront good for walks?
Yes. The Balluta arc is short but extremely pleasant, with palms, the church square and a flat seafront walk linking Sliema to Spinola Bay.
Are dogs allowed in Balluta Square?
Yes, on lead. The square is one of the few proper plaza-style spaces in town and is comfortable for an early-morning short walk.
Are sitters comfortable with cats in classic townhouses?
Yes. Many Balluta sitters live in older townhouses themselves and are experienced with indoor-outdoor cats and the stairwell-access challenges of classic Maltese property.
How do sitters handle the summer heat in Balluta Bay?
By moving the day around it. Walks go early in the morning and again after sunset, pavements get checked with a hand before a dog is taken out on them, and the middle of the day is for shade, water and quiet indoors. Agree the timings with your St Julians sitter when you book, and say so if your dog is a flat-faced breed or an older one that struggles in the heat.
What do I need to have in order before booking in Balluta Bay?
Your dog should be microchipped and on the national register, which is required in Malta under the Electronic Identification of Dogs Regulations. Beyond that, give your Balluta Bay sitter the vet you use, the feeding routine, and a note of how your dog behaves with other dogs on a narrow street, which comes up more in St Julians than in most places.
What does Petme cover in Balluta Bay?
Verified pet sitters offering boarding, in-home sitting, drop-in visits and dog walks across Balluta Bay. The Protection Plan can contribute up to €20,000 toward eligible vet costs.
Is there a booking fee?
No. Petme charges 0% to pet owners. The rate on the sitter's profile is exactly what you pay at checkout.
