Dog grooming jobs where your work gets you found

Petme is opening grooming to approved sitters who groom professionally, and the app doubles as a social feed: post your before-and-afters and the home feed shows them to people nearby first. Bring at least 6 months of paid grooming, set your own menu and prices, and groom at your place, at owners' homes, or both.

Post your grooms, and owners near you see them first

Petme is a pet-care app with a social feed. Groomers post photos and videos of their work, and the home feed shows posts from people nearby first, so owners in your city see your before-and-afters, follow you and find your profile.

Post your before-and-afters

Share photos and short videos of the pets you groom. Owners can like and comment on each post.

The home feed starts local

Petme shows posts from people nearby first, so the owners closest to you are the first to see your work.

Followers find your profile

An owner who likes a groom can follow you, open your profile and send you a message in the app.

The bar

Who can offer grooming on Petme

Grooming is a separate review on top of an approved sitter profile. The application asks for three kinds of evidence plus 3 declarations, and one with under 6 months of paid experience cannot be sent.

Paid, professional experience

At least 6 months of paid grooming, whether at a salon, self-employed or mobile, with the salon or business name if you have one.

One proof

A certificate or diploma, an employer reference, or a link to your website or social profile. At least one of the three is required.

Before and after

3 to 6 pets you groomed, each shown before and after: the same pet, a similar angle and no filters.

Where you groom

At your place, at theirs, or both

At your place

Owners bring the pet to you. The address is shared in chat rather than in the request, as it is for drop-in visits.

At the owner's home

You travel with your kit inside a home-visit radius you choose: 3, 5, 10 or 20 km.

Both

Offer both and the owner chooses where on each request. Your prices stay the same per session and dog size.

Common questions

Dog grooming jobs on Petme

What sitters ask before they apply to groom on Petme.

Are dog grooming jobs hiring near me?
Petme takes grooming applications from approved sitters in every US city of 100,000 or more people, and each city page below lists the local areas. Grooming is open to sitters with at least 6 months of paid, professional grooming.
How do I get more dog grooming clients?
Post your work where nearby owners look. On Petme you share before-and-after photos and videos of your grooms, and the home feed shows posts from people nearby first, so owners in your city can see them, follow you and message you from your profile.
Do I need experience to get a dog grooming job?
Yes. Grooming on Petme needs at least 6 months of paid, professional grooming plus one proof of it. If you are still learning, you can offer other pet care as a Petme sitter and apply for grooming once you have the experience.
How much do dog groomers make on Petme?
It depends on the prices you set. Grooming salons in the US typically charge $125 to $175 for a full groom of a medium dog, and you price your own menu with that in mind. Petme sets no grooming rate: each session (full groom, bath and brush, nails only) has its own price per dog size, and cats get their own price.
Can I work as a mobile dog groomer on Petme?
Yes. You can groom at owners' homes within a radius of 3, 5, 10 or 20 km, at your own place, or both. When you offer both, the owner picks the place on the request, and the address is shared in chat rather than in the request.
Can I do dog grooming part time?
Yes. There are no shifts on Petme: you open the start times you want and a request can only use those times. That leaves room for a salon job, studies or other Petme sitting around your grooming sessions.
How do I become a dog groomer on Petme?
Become a Petme sitter (18 or over, the Petme app, ID verification), then open the grooming application in the app. Add your experience and one proof, upload 3 to 6 before-and-after pairs, confirm 3 declarations and send it. Not approved? You can apply again after 15 days.
What proof of grooming experience does Petme accept?
At least one of three: a certificate or diploma, a reference from an employer, or a link to your website or social profile. It sits next to your 3 to 6 before-and-after pairs, which show the review team how you groom.
