About Bernal Heights
Dog walking in Bernal Heights, what it actually looks like
Bernal Heights is the hilltop neighborhood south of the Mission. Bernal Heights Hilltop Park is one of SF's best off-leash spots (the entire summit is unfenced off-leash with 360-degree city views), Cortland Avenue is the small main-street commercial strip, and the steep residential blocks below climb up from Precita Park.
Bernal sitter inventory leans active-outdoor types (the hilltop demands it) with single-family small homes and cottage inventory. The breed mix favors high-energy breeds: rescue mixes, Goldendoodles, Cattle Dog crosses, Border Collies. Many Bernal sitters specialize in reactive bookings because the hilltop's open layout suits solo walks.
