A local edge

Local know-how pays off in Allentown

Allentown runs a full four-season climate: hot, humid Lehigh Valley summers with frequent thunderstorms and cold winters that average around 30 inches of snow. Sitters walk early or after sunset during muggy July afternoons and salt icy row-home stoops and steep West End sidewalks after a January Nor'easter.

When demand peaks

Demand climbs in summer when families head to the Jersey Shore or the Poconos and again over the winter holidays. The Cedar Crest and Muhlenberg college calendars and shift work at Lehigh Valley Health Network keep dog walking and drop-in visits steady all year, while boarding leads during travel-heavy stretches.

Know your Allentown pickup areas

Most daycare bookings cluster Center City to the West End. Owners drop off on the way to work and collect afterwards, so an easy run to your door matters more than how far you are willing to travel.

Breeds you will meet in Allentown

Owners here mostly keep Labrador Retriever, German Shepherd, Pit Bull mixes, Golden Retriever. Knowing how those breeds behave, and saying so on your profile, is what turns a first booking into a repeat client.

Bilingual owners book faster

Allentown is a majority-Hispanic city, with a large Puerto Rican community, so Spanish-speaking sitters who can chat with owners in both languages have an edge, especially in Center City and the East Side.
