Pet sitting that pays you back.
Pet care apps spent a decade adding fees on top of the sitter rate. Petme went the other direction.
Pay nothing on top of the sitter rate, and get cashback added to your wallet on every completed booking. Apply it at checkout on the next stay.
What pet sitting cashback is.
A small percentage of every booking is returned to the owner wallet after the stay closes. The credit can be applied at checkout on the next booking. No points system. No tier ladder. No minimum balance. No opt-in or signup. It is built into how every Petme booking works, alongside the 0% owner fee at checkout.
Four steps, from booking to wallet.
None of these require you to do anything different from a standard Petme booking. The cashback layer sits on top, automatically.
01.Book a Petme sitter
Find a sitter in your US city and book a stay, walk, daycare day, or drop-in visit. Every Petme booking qualifies. There is no separate cashback program to opt into.
02.Complete the stay
Your pet has a great time with the sitter. The booking closes out once both sides confirm. Standard Petme flow, nothing special required from you.
03.Cashback lands in your wallet
The credit is added to your Petme wallet automatically. No claim form, no email back-and-forth, no waiting period beyond the standard booking close-out.
04.Apply it on the next booking
Use as much or as little of your wallet balance as you want at checkout on the next booking. The rest stays in your wallet for later. It rolls over.
Not retail. Not your card. Not a signup credit.
Cashback exists in other corners of the pet world, but never quite in this shape. Three short comparisons to set expectations.
Not a retail loyalty program
Retail programs like Chewy+ reward you on supplies and food. Pet sitting cashback rewards you on care. Different category, different math. You can stack both, but neither replaces the other.
Not a credit-card cashback
Some travel and lifestyle cards include limited pet-spending rewards. Those help. Petme cashback is on top of whatever your card already gives you. The wallet credit is independent of how you pay.
Not a one-off signup credit
Plenty of platforms offer a first-booking discount to acquire new customers. Petme cashback applies on every completed booking, not just the first. The reward compounds the longer you book through Petme.
What it looks like across a year.
Cashback compounds. The more you book, the more lands in the wallet, and the more rolls into the next stay. Three quick scenarios.
Occasional weekend
One weekend stay every couple of months. Cashback on each booking is modest on its own, but by the end of the year you have something in the wallet for a holiday stay.
Frequent traveler
Two or three trips a month, mixed boarding and drop-in visits. The credit accumulates fast. After a year, the wallet covers a meaningful chunk of a longer summer stay.
Multi-pet household
Two dogs and a cat, regular daycare and walks during the workweek. Cashback accrues on every visit. The wallet quietly becomes a way to absorb the cost of an unexpected long trip.
Cashback needs a 0% owner-fee platform behind it.
Adding cashback on top of a service fee would mostly cancel itself out. On a platform that charges the owner 0% at checkout, the cashback is real value: it reduces the effective cost of the next booking, instead of offsetting a fee the platform charged in the first place.
That is why the cashback layer only made sense after Petme moved owners to a zero-fee model. The two features are designed together.
Everything about Petme cashback in 2026.
The questions we hear most from owners about cashback, eligible bookings, and how the wallet works.
How much cashback do I earn on a Petme booking?
Cashback is added on every completed booking. The exact amount can vary based on the booking type, current promotions, and how often you book through Petme. The simplest way to check is to open your Petme wallet after the stay closes. The credit appears there automatically. How Petme cashback works.
When does cashback show up in my wallet?
After the booking is complete on both sides. Once Petme closes out the booking, the wallet is credited automatically. No claim form, no waiting period beyond the standard close-out, no email back-and-forth.
How do I use my Petme cashback?
Open the Petme app, go to your wallet, and apply your balance at checkout on the next booking. You can use as much or as little of it as you want. The rest stays for later. Cashback can be used on every Petme service: boarding, daycare, walks, and drop-in visits.
Does pet sitting cashback expire?
Cashback stays in your wallet for use on future Petme bookings. If you stop using Petme for a long stretch, inactive balances may eventually be cleared. The current rules for inactive balances live in the Terms of Service. For active owners booking regularly, there is nothing to worry about. Petme Terms of Service.
Does cashback apply to dog walks and drop-in visits too?
Yes. Every completed booking on Petme earns cashback, whether it is a multi-week boarding stay, a daycare day, a single drop-in visit, or a 30-minute dog walk. As long as the booking closes successfully, the credit lands in your wallet.
Do I have to opt in or sign up separately?
No. There is no separate program, no tier ladder to climb, no minimum balance to clear before you can use the credit. Cashback is automatic on every Petme booking from the first one.
How does this combine with the 0% owner service fee?
The two work together. The 0% owner fee means you pay the sitter listed rate at checkout, nothing on top. The cashback means part of that rate flows back to your wallet after the booking closes. Net effect: the rate on the profile is the starting point, not the ceiling. How fee-free bookings work.
Where can I see my Petme wallet balance?
Open the Petme app, tap your profile, then Wallet. The balance is visible there at any time, along with a history of bookings that contributed to it.
