A local edge

Local know-how pays off in Harrisburg

Harrisburg has a humid continental climate with warm, humid summers that reach the high 80s and cold, snowy winters that drop into the 20s, with roughly 26 inches of snow a year. Walkers move outings to early morning or evening during July humidity and salt and shorten routes when the Susquehanna riverfront ices over in January.

When demand peaks

Demand rises when the legislature is in session and state workers commute downtown, around the Pennsylvania Farm Show and other Farm Show Complex events, and over summer and winter holiday travel. Dog walking and drop-in visits carry the weekday schedule for government and hospital staff, while boarding leads when families leave town.

Know your Harrisburg areas

Most bookings cluster Downtown to Uptown. Owners look for sitters who know the area and can reach them without a long trip.

Breeds you will meet in Harrisburg
