I’ve loved animals all my life, it’s just a part of who I am. Because of that I’ve been taking care of animals for a long time in many different ways: my neighbors sick puppy while they were away, my aunts two very nervous Great Danes for three days, and lots of others in between. I’ve cared for my own pets throughout the years as well, with bunny’s when I was young who I adored, and then a special parrot named Nixxie that has become like a child to me, and finally a sweet cat named Walle who showed up as a kitten on our fence and worked his way into my family’s heart. All these animals have taught me so much about their individuality, and specific traits and needs that have given me the perfect experience to care for your pet. I have specialized experience and knowledge through a veterinary assistant internship where I got to work with lots of different dogs and cats of varying ages, from puppy/kitten to little old dog/cats. During the internship I walked them, fed them, watched surgeries, monitored anesthesia, sterilized tools, deintibated, monitored animals after surgery, restrained animals for exam and vaccinations, cleaned, cleaned and cleaned some more along with any other task I could help with. This internship also allowed me to be a part of hand raising 5 rescue kittens, where I bathed them, cleaned their enclosure, bottle fed them multiple times a day and did whatever else was needed to give them the best care including setting up a little photoshoot for their adoption photos. Additionally, I have experience with exotic animals from parrots and other avians (having done extensive research and owned my own parrot for over 5 years), hamsters, guinea pigs, chinchillas and even snakes and geckos, all of which I’m more than willing to care for and have dedicated much of my own time to research copiously.
