Local know-how pays off in Boca Raton
Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30 and peaks around September 10, which is when a cat visit turns into a power check. The normal August high is 90 degrees, so a tripped breaker leaves a closed condo hot within hours. Cold snaps matter little here, and December lows sit near 62.
When demand peaks
The travel weeks are Palm Beach County's winter break, December 22 to January 1, and spring break, March 22 to 26 in 2027. Boca Raton also holds 4,679 homes kept for seasonal or occasional use, and an empty home still needs feeding and a litter check every day.
Know your Boca Raton areas
Downtown Boca Raton carries the high-rise condo blocks, and citywide 12,555 units are in buildings of 50 apartments or more. Keys there move through a front desk rather than a lockbox. Boca Villas and Golden Harbour are single-family, so visits mean a code and a side gate.
Cat homes in Boca Raton
Boca Raton has 49,128 housing units and 12,555 of them sit in buildings of 50 apartments or more. Another 4,679 units are held for seasonal or occasional use. Cats here stay indoors on air conditioning, and plenty of their owners are gone for months at a time.
Bilingual owners book faster
Plan on some care notes arriving in Spanish. Of the city's 98,074 residents aged five and over, 11,241 speak Spanish at home. Of those, 3,750 speak English less than very well. Another 2,742 speak a Slavic language at home.
What a cat sitting job in Boca Raton actually involves
A downtown visit starts at a front desk, so the building needs your name on a list before the first booking. In the single-family blocks around Boca Villas the handover is a gate code and a key. Twice-daily visits are normal in August, when a house left closed up gets hot fast.
Keys and access
Most Boca Raton owners hand over a spare key, a lockbox code or a smart-lock code at the meet-and-greet. Agree where the key lives and how you get in if the code fails, and confirm it before the owner leaves town.
The visit
Fresh food and water, the litter box scooped, a look at the cat and a few minutes of play or a brush. You note anything off, like a skipped meal or a hidden cat, so the owner hears it from you first.
The update
A photo and two lines in the app after every visit. Owners who cannot see their cat for a week live on those messages, and a sitter who sends them without being asked is the one they rebook.

What Boca Raton owners look for in a cat sitter
Cat owners book on trust more than on price. The profile details below are the ones they ask about.
Comfort with shy cats
Many cats hide from a stranger for the first visit. Owners want to hear that you will sit with the cat, not chase it, and that a hidden cat still gets fed and its box scooped.
Reliability, twice a day
A cat on medication or a diabetic cat needs visits at the same time every day. Say what your schedule can hold in Boca Raton, and mention any medication experience, even with your own cat.
A tidy visit
Litter cleaned properly, nothing left out, doors and windows as you found them, and a message with a photo. Owners come home and look for those signs before they look at anything else.
