Local know-how pays off in Goodyear
An indoor Goodyear cat lives on the air conditioning all summer. The Litchfield Park normals put July's high at 106.5 and its overnight low at 81.2. The house never cools off on its own. August is the wettest month of the summer at 1.06 inches, and it arrives as monsoon storms. A visit in that stretch checks the thermostat before anything else. Only seven nights a year reach freezing.
When demand peaks
Goodyear travel means a drive east. Phoenix Goodyear Airport sits inside the city and no airline serves it. Trips leave from Sky Harbor, which handled 51,620,420 passengers in 2025. Visits stack over the Agua Fria winter break, December 21 to January 1, and again over spring break, March 8 to 12.
Know your Goodyear areas
PebbleCreek is the active-adult community, 54 holes of golf and detached homes. A visit there starts with a key handed over at the door. Centerra is detached houses too. Four apartment complexes stand within a fifth of a mile of its edge, so two calls there need no drive between them.
Cat homes in Goodyear
Goodyear cats mostly live in detached houses. Of 48,640 homes, 40,519 are detached. The 5,979 units in buildings of fifty or more sit in complexes scattered from Canyon Trails to the blocks by Goodyear Ballpark. Owners hold 32,344 of the 42,713 occupied homes. A July normal high of 106.5 keeps every cat indoors on the air conditioning.
Bilingual owners book faster
Some Goodyear bookings open in Spanish. It is the home language for 17,782 of the city's 101,793 residents aged five and over, and 3,636 of them speak English less than very well, so a booking thread and a key handover both go easier bilingual.
What a cat sitting job in Goodyear actually involves
A Goodyear cat visit is a house call. Detached homes are 40,519 of the city's 48,640, so the round is driven rather than walked. That is how 32,428 of the city's workers already get around. The exception is Centerra and Estrella Vista, where several apartment blocks stand within a short walk of each other.
Keys and access
Most Goodyear owners hand over a spare key, a lockbox code or a smart-lock code at the meet-and-greet. Agree where the key lives and how you get in if the code fails, and confirm it before the owner leaves town.
The visit
Fresh food and water, the litter box scooped, a look at the cat and a few minutes of play or a brush. You note anything off, like a skipped meal or a hidden cat, so the owner hears it from you first.
The update
A photo and two lines in the app after every visit. Owners who cannot see their cat for a week live on those messages, and a sitter who sends them without being asked is the one they rebook.

Goodyear's animal rules sit in Chapter 7 of the city code. Section 7-2-9 puts every dog off its owner's property on a leash of six feet or less. A loose dog on a public street or park puts its owner in violation. Section 7-1-4 caps a residential property at four household pets. Zoning section 3-2-4 makes a home-based business hold an annual business registration permit. Pet-care income is self-employment on Schedule C.

What Goodyear owners look for in a cat sitter
Cat owners book on trust more than on price. The profile details below are the ones they ask about.
Comfort with shy cats
Many cats hide from a stranger for the first visit. Owners want to hear that you will sit with the cat, not chase it, and that a hidden cat still gets fed and its box scooped.
Reliability, twice a day
A cat on medication or a diabetic cat needs visits at the same time every day. Say what your schedule can hold in Goodyear, and mention any medication experience, even with your own cat.
A tidy visit
Litter cleaned properly, nothing left out, doors and windows as you found them, and a message with a photo. Owners come home and look for those signs before they look at anything else.
