Local know-how pays off in Köln
Cologne runs on its Veedel, and a house sitter is trusted with keys, so owners look for somebody from their own quarter rather than across the city. The Rhine valley is also the mildest corner of Germany in winter, which makes the year-end stays easier here than further east.
When demand peaks
Summer holidays, Christmas and the public-holiday bridges are the strongest windows, with Carnival week adding short stays.
Know your Köln areas
Most house sitting bookings cluster in Ehrenfeld, Sülz and Nippes. You stay in the owner's home, so the districts you list decide which stays are practical around your own working day, not how far you are willing to travel.
Breeds you will meet in Köln
Owners here mostly keep Mixed breed, Labrador, German Shepherd. Knowing how those breeds behave, and saying so on your profile, is what turns a first booking into a repeat client.

Köln areas that book the most
Petme house sitting bookings in Köln come from neighborhoods like Altstadt-Nord, Belgisches Viertel, Ehrenfeld. Owners book a sitter to stay at their home overnight while they travel, so the pets keep their own routine and the house stays occupied.
In Germany, anyone who cares for other people's pets for regular pay registers a small trade (Gewerbe) and declares the income on their tax return. House sitting happens in the owner's own home, so agree keys, access and the daily routine with them in writing before the first night.
