Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
How much does a cat sitter cost in Athens?
In-home cat visits in Athens usually cost €14 to €25 per visit, with one or two visits a day being the most common. Price depends on visit length and the number of cats. Each Chalandri sitter sets and shows their own rate on Petme.
How often should a sitter visit my cat in Chalandri?
Most cats need at least one daily visit for fresh food, water and a clean litter tray; two visits suit kittens, older cats or those on medication. You agree the visit schedule directly with your Chalandri sitter in the app.
Can a Chalandri sitter give my cat medication?
Many sitters in Chalandri are comfortable giving pills, liquids or insulin and note it in their profile. Confirm the specific need when you message, and walk through it at the meet and greet. The Protection Plan offers up to €20,000 for eligible vet costs.
How far ahead should I book a sitter in Chalandri for August?
Months, not weeks. Greek residents take about a third of their trips in August, so Athens sitters are fielding requests for the same weeks from everyone at once. Spring is not too early for an August booking, and outside midsummer you can usually arrange something a couple of weeks out.
What does my pet need to be registered before I book in Chalandri?
A microchip and an entry in the National Register of Companion Animals, which Greek law requires for every dog and cat, not just dogs. A certified vet fits the chip and checks it at each visit. Have the registration in order before you book in Chalandri, and give your Athens sitter your vet's details along with the feeding and medication routine.
