A local edge

Local know-how pays off in Napier-Hastings

Napier-Hastings has a mild maritime climate with the seasons flipped: summer runs December to February, winter June to August. Walkers who use the long, bright summer evenings, keep a raincoat for the wet, windy winters, and hold a steady schedule year-round earn the repeat bookings.

When demand peaks

Demand peaks over the summer holidays from December into January, when families travel, and again over the winter school breaks. Boarding and house sitting lead during the summer break; walking and drop-in visits carry the working week.

Know your Napier-Hastings pickup areas

Most daycare bookings cluster Napier CBD to Taradale. Owners drop off on the way to work and collect afterwards, so an easy run to your door matters more than how far you are willing to travel. Your space decides how many dogs you take at once.

Breeds you will meet in Napier-Hastings

Owners here mostly keep Labrador, Border Collie, Huntaway, Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Knowing how those breeds behave, and saying so on your profile, is what turns a first booking into a repeat client.

Does doggy daycare in Napier-Hastings go quiet over the summer holidays?
Yes, and it is the one dip you can plan for. New Zealand schools break up in mid-December and go back in late January or early February, and many Napier-Hastings employers run their annual closedown over the same weeks, so owners are home with the dog or away with it. Daycare picks up again once term one starts. Hosts who also board keep earning through January.
