Local know-how pays off in New Orleans

New Orleans is humid and subtropical, with a June-to-November hurricane season that can force an evacuation on short notice. Sitters walk early to beat the heat, watch for hot pavement in the French Quarter, and keep a storm plan ready for boarding and house-sitting stays.

When demand peaks

Mardi Gras, French Quarter Fest, and Jazz Fest fill the city with travel and drive boarding and house-sitting demand, on top of the winter-holiday peak. Daily walks run year-round across Uptown, the Marigny, and Mid-City.

Know your New Orleans areas

Most cat bookings cluster Uptown to Bywater. Owners book the sitter who can reach them quickly for a daily visit, so the areas you list matter more than the distance you are willing to travel.
