Caring for your dog in Leicester
Leicester-specific tips every dog owner should know
Bradgate Park deer
Bradgate Park has free-roaming deer. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times within the park to protect the herd.
Canal and river safety
The Grand Union Canal and River Soar run through Leicester. Keep your dog on a lead near water edges, especially on narrow towpaths.
Midlands weather
Leicester has cold, damp winters. Dry your dog after muddy walks in the meadows and consider a coat for smaller breeds.
Park community
Knighton Park and Victoria Park have regular dog-walking communities. Morning walks are a great way to socialise your dog.
