About pet sitting in Chalkida
Chalkida sits on both sides of the Euripus strait, with most of the town on Euboea and the Kanithos district on the mainland side, under the hill of the Karababa castle. Two bridges link the halves: the old sliding bridge at the narrowest point and the cable-stayed bridge opened in 1993.
The seafront along the strait is the obvious daily walk, and it is a good place to watch the current of the Euripus, which reverses direction roughly every six hours. The town is low, about 10 metres above the sea, so most routes in the centre and the old Kastro quarter are flat.
Summers are hot and dry and winters mild and rainy, so in July and August walks move to early morning and after sunset. Owners who travel for work, for holidays or to Athens can book boarding, house sitting or drop-in visits. Availability changes, so check live availability in the Petme app.
